Raised in a council house on Merseyside and a lifelong Tranmere Rovers fan, David graduated with a degree from Manchester University in Management Sciences in 1970.
David's first job was a graduate go-fer in a new start-up retailer. The business grew from 0 to 47 outlets in six years.
David founded allsports in 1977. It became one of the four largest retailers of sporting goods in the UK. The business grew from 1 to 260 stores and employed over 2800 people, before falling into the hands of one of the bigger three in 2005.
In 1997, David founded millennium estates. This was a high-end residential development company, which was favoured by many premiership footballers, including Cristiano Ronaldo. millennium estates was a victim of the banking crash of 2008.
Since then, David has founded several new businesses.
He now lives in rural Cheshire (having come a long way from a council estate to a country estate) with his final wife, 3 dogs and 2 cats. He retains his interest in active sports and lists tennis; golf; game shooting and the gym amongst his main interests.
David is passionate, committed and enthusiastic in everything he does. He is a powerful communicator and motivator and always fervent in passing on knowledge he has gained throughout his vast and varied business life to enlighten others.
